JKT Hits Back on Sugar Inquiry Report, Admits Falling Out from the Kitchen Cabinet

Islamabad (Monitoring Desk): Jahangir Khan Tareen (JKT) declared the sugar inquiry commission report unfair. Jahangir Tareen blamed Economic Coordination Commission for the sugar crises.

“Ask ECC why did they allow sugar export,” Jahangir Khan Tareen said in a Television interview. “I have never been part of the ECC therefore I cannot be blamed for the sugar crisis.”

Jahangir Tareen said his mill had bought sugar at the government price and faced losses for sticking to the official price. He criticised inquiry commission by saying that they were not competent to assess sugar business.

Jahangir Khan Tareen, known as JKT, was the most important leader in the Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf. He was considered to be the king maker in the party. Admitting he was part of the kitchen cabinet, JKT admitted that he was gradually sidelined. ” I do not how and why it happened but I am not in the kitchen cabinet.”
