PIA’s Plane Crashed in Karachi, BoP’s President is Among Survivors

Karachi: Pakistan International Airline’s plane crashed in Karachi today afternoon. PIA flight was coming from Lahore and it crashed during landing. Bank of Punjab’s President Zafar Masood was also on the flight. He had been rescued and admitted for further treatment in a local hospital.

Plane had tried to land at Karachi Airport when pilot reported Control Tower about losing an engine. Control Tower asked pilot to land as runway is open for landing. However, Pilot again informed about the engine loss and within few seconds raised May Day May Day alarm. After few seconds, plane crashed in a densely populated area Model Colony.

Pak Army, Rangers and Police rushed to the spot. Edhi and other rescue services started evacuating people from the area and injured people. Pak Army’s team conducted area’s survey through helicopter.

Airplane crash has some lucky passengers like Zafar Masood, President Bank of Punjab. He had been immediately shifted to the hospital where his condition was out of danger. Reports of other survivors also coming from the area. Rescue teams are busy in evacuating survivors and dead bodies from this area. Senior Journalist, Ansar Naqvi was also on this flight.
