Karachi (Business Reporter): An investigation report on oil shortage revealed that the sale of Pakistan State Oil jumped by 20 percent during the engineered oil shortage.
PSO did not stop oil supply during the first two weeks of June, when many oil companies were not selling petrol or diesel at their pumps. Uninterrupted supply increased PSO’s sale by more than 20 percent, said an investigation report. PSO’s market share moved up to 54 per cent from 34 percent during the oil shortage.
Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) has submitted its report to the Prime Minister of Pakistan, stated a private news channel. Report stated that some companies had created a cartel to control oil supply, which cause oil shortage. FIR has been registered against three companies as cumulatively they had more than 96,000 metric ton oil in their storage.
