
Karachi (Business Reporter): State Bank of Pakistan announced toay that workers’ remittance increased by 51% in the month of Jun compared to the corresponding period of last year. Workers’ remittances recorded an increase of $836 million.
State Bank stated that Pakistani work force sent $2.466 billion during the month of June 2020 compared with $1.636 billion in Jun 2019. “Cumulatively, it increased to historic high of $23,120.7 mn in FY20, growing by 6.4% over $21,739.4 mn in FY19,”
According to a SBP statement workers’ remittances during Covid19 pandemic period, March to June 2020, workers’ remittances registered an increase of a 7.8% compared with the corresponding period of 2019.
